Finished in 2009, this Mediterranean style residences fit well in South Florida because of the climate similarity, although the topography is very different. Most often, the architecture is Spanish influenced but not in this instance. This home is designed in a style that reflects Provence in Southern France. With the multi-colored hand-made barrel roof tiles, the genoise roof detail, the generous use of native South Florida stone, terraces, the many fountains and balconies, and the heavy shutters and iron work on the landings we have tried to stay true to the French model which inspired the design. The interior of the house also boasts many 19th Century French antiques from original, re-fitted carved boiserie in the living room, the fireplace mantles (many from L'Origines in Houdan, France) and the built-in antique furniture. The kitchen, with the white tiled barrel ceiling and hand-carved cabinets in an Art-Nouveau motif is influenced by Horta, and the wine room boasts authentic antique French tile details. This house is about custom detail.
